38.4 The spiritual body reflects the soul’s inner level of love
The spiritual body that leaves the body at death usually resembles the earthly body, with which it was intimately connected during earthly life. The outer beauty and age of the spiritual body reflects the inner level of love of the soul. The more selfless love, the younger the spiritual body looks. The spiritual robe also reflects the inner life of the wearer. When a spirit from the Spheres of Light goes to earth to pick up a loved one, he can concentrate on his own earthly life and let his spiritual body assume the last age it was when his loved one knew him. This allows him to be recognized by his beloved. For the same reason, the soul can make his spiritual body wear those clothes that his beloved on earth remembers.

-Over here the spirit takes on the appearance of the inner being, and a person who leaves the earth at the age of eighty and who has led a bad life, will appear even older on the other side of the grave. Over here a person’s appearance is the mirror of the soul and he will be marked according to his inherent power. So those who lost control over themselves on earth will be found to have aged even more over here.
