40.0 What happens when you sleep?

We all know the feeling that after a busy day, we are tired in the evening and are ready for rest. It is then time to go to sleep. But what happens when we fall asleep and why do we as humans need sleep?
Our earthly science does not yet know the deeper cosmic meaning of sleep.
We find the answer in the spiritual wisdom brought to Earth by Celestial Spirits from the realms of Light. For this purpose they collaborated with the Dutchman Jozef Rulof (1898-1952). In the books of Jozef Rulof, these masters explain the deeper meaning and workings of sleep.  This lesson briefly explains this.
In order to sleep, our body must let go of the feeling that is set on the day conscious life. Therefore, our mind, and with it much of our feeling, withdraws from the physical body.
We then fall asleep, and during sleep two important processes take place:
-The experiences we have lived through during the day and which have been absorbed by our feeling consciousness are processed during sleep and sink into our subconscious.
-As human beings, we need life energy to function.
During our functioning in the day conscious we consume life energy.
This life energy is recharged during sleep. When life energy is recharged, we feel rested. We are then fit enough to be active during the day.

Quote
The first, second and third levels denote the conditions in which man is at rest and withdraws the consciousness of feeling from matter, which means that feeling is transferred to the spirit.
-In the fourth level of sleep the spirit withdraws from the material world and the physical body is released from all disturbing factors. Those who are in this condition will sleep peacefully and will hardly awaken with.
